Campaign sign design tips
Voters see your sign for about three seconds from a moving car. Keep it simple.
- Name first. Your name should be the biggest thing on the sign, readable from across the street.
- Office second. Keep the office short, like “for City Council” or “for School Board.”
- Two or three colors max. High contrast, like white on navy or yellow on black, reads best in bright Arizona sun.
- Skip the fine print. Save websites and slogans for literature. Include any required “paid for by” disclaimer in a clean, small line.
- Bigger at intersections. Use 24×36 on busy corners and 12×18 or 18×24 in neighborhoods.
- Check local placement rules. Cities and HOAs set their own rules on where and when signs can go up, so confirm before you plant.
